Jeff Ambrister | General Manager & Director of Business Development

Jeff Ambrister serves as the General Manager and Director of Business Development for U.S. Architectural Millwork in Knoxville, bringing over 25 years of millwork industry experience to his leadership role. Focused on client relationships, team culture, and strategic growth, Jeff plays a vital role in connecting architects, builders, and designers with premium architectural millwork solutions tailored to their unique project needs.

Born in Detroit while his father was stationed there with the U.S. Air Force, Jeff was raised in Knoxville and later attended Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, where he played collegiate basketball. After earning his degree, he spent more than a decade in the freight and logistics industry, holding key operational roles at Southeastern Freight Lines and Averitt Express. Throughout that time, he remained connected to construction through home renovation work, eventually transitioning full-time into the millwork sector.

Jeff’s personal motto--“Adversity does not build character, it reveals it”—reflects his approach to business and leadership. Known for his attention to detail, discipline, and collaborative mindset, Jeff emphasizes preparation, persistence, and professionalism in every interaction. He is passionate about helping others grow, both professionally and personally, and continually strives to improve processes, service, and outcomes.

Outside the office, Jeff enjoys fishing, landscaping, woodworking, and time with his fiancée and two adult daughters. He’s an active member of NorthStar Church and often shares his favorite scripture and motivational quotes—many of which are posted around his office as daily reminders of faith, effort, and purpose.
